question about mutant monsters

In the post about bonus XP you made a comment about putting our backup characters on here or we could make mutant monsters, how does that exactly work? Do I roll for all his stats or do I just make up whatever I want(within the limits of MF), and how would they come into play(not in the sense of being used against us). I basically want to know what possible benefit there could be to making monsters.

  1. No real benefit (besides getting experience for posting them) - I mostly just wanted to give all the players a chance to participate in the world building process that I find to be so much fun.

If you want to make a monster, you just decide a HP range (or a number of Hit Dice), an armor class, types of attacks and damage they do, and any special powers or mutations. The most important thing is probably a description or drawing to give an idea of what they look like - you could also talk about the ecology of the monster (what it eats, where it lives, how it fits into the food chain/ecosystem).

I have a lot of fun with this sort of stuff, so I thought I would allow you guys to get experience while making up some crazy mutant monsters.
