Okay, folks, here are some new thoughts based upon my previous post and Ryan's smart suggestions and speculations on the matter of Julius Corple.
Assaulting the underground complex by force will be most difficult. It could be done, but I think we would need MASS EXPLOSIVES, lots of heavy weaponry, plus all of our vehicles and mechs fixed up and ready to go. We might even want more technological stuff than we possess now in order to instigate a full-blown assault on the underground complex -- for example, another Iron Man suit or two would be extremely helpful.
So regarding the complex, I think the smartest thing to do is to use Dataan's two already-in-place "cloaked" spiderbots to attempt to discover what Corple is up to -- an informational raid only. Expanding upon this, is there any way we can use our friendship with the Ooh-Oh monks and/or our access to Intur Netz to invade Corple's computer network and find stuff out and/or monkey-wrench his system?
Beyond that, I think we should do as Ryan suggests and refurbish our equipment. We will need all the technological help we can get in the near future because as we waffle around our opponents are all getting stronger.
So let's scope out the complex, spy on Corple, fix up and/or obtain more weapons and equipment, THEN decide if it is time to either (a) blow the living shit out of Corple, or (b) blow the living shit out of the Knights of Genetic Purity, who, incidentally, just laid waste to Skinny Butt at the end of last session.
This may just be my personal hobby-horse, but I still think the Knights are the first group we need to go after and fuckin' DESTROY. The KGP are intolerant fucks who have no business spreading their hate-mongering ways in our area. Maybe if we deliver a total smackdown against them we can use their tech (can you say "Iron Man suits"?) and/or knowledge to address the Corple problem. So I say "go after the knights first, and HARD" but I am willing to have my opinion changed on this matter by (a) any new info we dig up on Julius Corple and his current aims [see Ryan's analysis on this] and (b) my fellow players' comments.

I believe our best bet would be to split our forces up for the next session, since Bozko and Dataan are the longest living members they would have the strongest ties with out allies. Whoever is on best terms with the ooh-oh monks should contact them while Dataan(since I doubt hes on good terms with them) uses the spiderbots to gain information on Corple. Bozko could either seek out any remaining allies and gain information from them(any who havn't been killed by the KGP) OR he could seek out the weapons cache that the chimps told us about, since his ironman suit would be perfect for the underwater search and seizure.
ReplyDeleteWe could have someone working with the mice to try and see if we could connect Iron's hard drive to thier computer. I remember Carter(I think) talking about using Glargorian as a weapon, if we discover a heavily fortified metal base that we need access to I suggest that Glargorian might be a good option.
ReplyDeleteThis might be a long stretch but if bozko isn't busy with a task it might be a good idea to fly back to the nuclear site that we nuked and search for anything of use, weapons, metals, ect. The reason I suggest this is because realistically nuclear silos are built to withstand a nuclear blast so, if the ironman suit can holdback the radioactive fallout we could possibly have access to at best a working computer. Now heres my idea if at all possible, from my understanding the ironman suit is fully capable of space travel(just the outer orbit of the earth where satellites and such are) Bozko could guide the International Space Station towards earth and aim for portland as a makeshift bomb. There are some issues, first do we even know the ISS exists? is it still in tact? can bozko aim it accurately enough?
Finally we need a character that can fly that isn't being actively used, why? because there are military bases in Oregon and Washington that could prove very useful, granted our players don't know about the ones we havn't been to ,but if we could get information on them we could send characters out for search missions.
All good thoughts, sir. i agree that if Mutant Lord Carl is amenable to it, we could split the party and put Dataan on the Corple complex information spying mission and put nearly everybody else on gathering gear etc. as you suggest. I agree about re-checking out the desert nuke site but maybe we should start locally and work our way back to that in a session or two?
ReplyDeleteThe question is why would we know that there is a station ? we could say we stumbled across it on the Internet but it's a stretch. Also I'm glad to see that Carter is less apt to be buddy buddy with Corple, I don't think I have to remind everyone that he has been KIDNAPPING MUTANTS so I doubt he is going to be super friendly towards us, and if he is it will likely be towards the ends of enclaving and using us for his desires. You don't send squads out with the equipment the dog boys have if your hoping to ask people nicely to come with you. Now as far as the virtual assault I think it's Genius, I don't think we have the manpower or means to take on the KGP yet although I do agree they are the biggest threat to everything, and somehow beating corple sounds like something we could have a much better chance at accomplishing quicker and thusly being able to use any spoils we might gain from him against the KGP. Basically I think we are going to have to fight one group to get the means to fight the other and Corple is weaker almost for sure in numbers and quite possibly in overall firepower (although he has better tech) I think we have a better chance at making a run @ him first but I also agree that the best thing to do in the next couple of sessions would be to gather Intel and resources, also maybe we should find an ACTUAL safe place to hold up ?
ReplyDeletewell I was suggesting at if we ever discovered it and the reason I thought we might discover it is because we have talked about locating still functioning satellites and i thought it could be possible that we could find the ISS in a list of still functioning satellites. I understand its a pretty far-fetched, but if we ever accessed a list of satellites maybe the ISS would come up since it technically is a "satellite".
ReplyDeleteTotally that's a good explanation, I was just sayin we needed one and that sounds good, also maybe it has nuclear power ? what would the fallout from that or other nuclear sats if they fell on porritland ?
